Here at the Job Shop our staff team really enjoys working with those who are trying to return to the workforce. The individual stories vary but the need to focus, and to handle rejection well, are front and center. Knowing that you’re making a difference is one thing, but it always feels good when someone lets you know . This is a letter we got recently from someone who went through our 10-week supported job search program.
Dear Job Shoppers,
I want to thank you all for your help in the last few weeks. Without all your support, and the resources you so kindly make available to everyone who works through your organization, my transition from being unemployed into finding a job would have undoubtedly been a much more trying experience.
When I found myself in a position where I needed guidance and assistance in a time of need, after looking in many different places, Job Shop ended up being exactly what I was looking for. It is uncommon to find organizations, like your own, which are so selfless and supportive, and ask nothing in return, in a world where help most often comes at a price. I truly wish that there were more people out there like those working in the Job Shop; if there were, so many more individuals trying to find a solid place to stand would find comfort when difficulty in life arises.
It is good to know that I live in a city where The Job Shop exists.
Deepest Gratitude,
